So I discovered this blog: http://notesofnomads.com/super-sized-tokudai-ice-cream-nakano-tokyo-japan/
and decided to take the challenge!
LOOK AT THIS BEAST!! The flavours from bottom to top:
- Ramune (a kind of soda)
Also it’s nut free, so no need to worry for those with allergies!
Where to find it:
Go to Nakano station and head towards the North Exit. Straight ahead you should see the Nakano Sun mall
Walk all the way through this market until you reach a building called “Nakano Broadway”. Walk in and after a couple of feet on your right there is an escalator that says “Seiyu”. Once down, take a left and go aaaalll the way (make sure to browse the goods :)). finally when you can’t walk anymore, take another left, then a right and there is a ice cream store called “Daily Chico” on your left. (Open from 10:00AM to 8:00PM).
Believe it or not, this masterpiece only cost about 400¥!! I went here during summer time with a friend and as long as you both have spoons (which are provided), good reflexes and an appetite for ice cream, then spilling won’t be a problem! There’s plenty to do around, after the ice cream you can go check out the Mandarake store up stairs for those interested in anime and manga. Or go back out into the sun mall and get some sushi or tonkatsu (there’s a stall/grocery store near the entrance of the sun mall that sells tonkatsu and its DELICIOUS)
The excitement for this ice-cream was overwhelming, I watched EVERY flavour being placed!! An awesome time to go would be the summer. Its a perfect break from the summer heat of central Tokyo.
